CORBACH. A man from Korbach showed courage to take risks early on Sunday morning – with a lot of alcohol in his blood, the driver of a Cupra hit a lantern.
A 27-year-old from Korbach dutifully reported to the police station and stated that his vehicle had damaged a lantern on Am Ziegelgrund street. The smell of alcohol in the man’s breath made the officials suspicious, a patrol was sent to federal highway 251 and confirmed what was happening over the radio. A breath alcohol test then also brought certainty: The alcohol consumption was well above the permitted level, so that the 27-year-old had to have a blood sample taken. While still at the police station, the alcohol sinner tried to tell a story that the officers silently acknowledged. But that didn’t change the fact that his driver’s license was confiscated.
According to the current state of knowledge, the driver drove his Cupra from Lelbach around 4.15 a.m. into the roundabout and apparently wanted to turn right into the Ziegelgrund. The driver must have lost control of his vehicle. The police estimate the total damage at a total of 23,000 euros.
