Cup of Hope: Royal Circle wins the cup, 12th edition

The 12th edition of the Cup of Hope of the Youth Collective for the Development of Bobo-Dioulasso, with the support of CIMAF, ended on Saturday 7 September 2024 on the field of Môgôma môgô wélé in Niénéta in the 12 department of Bobo-Dioulasso. The Cercle Royal team won the cup.

Make football a cause of unity and social cohesion. This is the spirit that led the Bobo-Dioulasso Youth Development Group to start the Cup of Hope with CIMAF as sponsor. The 2024 edition, under the theme: “Football, a factor of social cohesion”, started last June and brought together a total of 48 teams. The final pitting the Wifama FC team from division 22 against the Cercle Royal team from division 2 was played in two 20-minute rounds. The two teams were separated by a score of 0 goals at the final whistle. He made the punishment decide between them. The Cercle Royal team won with 2 successful shots against 1 for the Wifama FC team.
Before this final itself, the public had access to the final of the first edition of the Women’s Cup of Hope. It pitted the Amazon team against the Dragon CB team. The first half of the game ended in a one-goal draw. Back from the locker room, the Dragon CB team managed to take advantage by scoring their second goal. It is on this score of 2 goals to 1 that the end of the game happens. So the Dragon team gets the first prize in this category.
Bringing youth together
For Aboudramane Sanou, president of the organizing committee, “there was no winner or loser”. “This competition provided an opportunity, once again, for young people to come together and fraternize through football. We will continue to strengthen these bonds of social cohesion between young people,” he said. The sponsor of this edition, Aboubacar Koïta, founder of the School Center “Le Savoir” also thanked the initiators of the competition as well as the cement factory CIMAF, which thus gives young people the opportunity to succeed through the free- those school days. “It’s a game above all else. As promoters of educational institutions, we continue to work for the development of young people and therefore we invite the organizers to stay the course,” he said. Police Captain Arouna Ouédraogo, The head of the multi-purpose intervention unit of the Bobo Police and the head of the final, congratulated the organizers for meeting the organizational challenge. He used this platform to ask the h -numbers to support the FDS in their missions to secure the area.
