Dwight Aguilar, from province of La Convencion, on the Cusco region, is he coffee grower with the best coffee in the country according Peru Cup of Excellence 2021. It thus becomes the first producer two-time champion because in 2018 he had already obtained this award.
The Peru 2021 Cup of Excellence event rewards the best specialty coffees in each producing country, this year 238 samples from 10 departments participated, Dwight Aguilar’s coffee obtained 90.20 points. It is a coffee from the Geisha variety It is grown at 1820 meters above sea level on the La Nueva Alianza farm.
“For me this is an emotion. I know all the work that was done during the year, fertilizing, harvesting, not sleeping, working 24 hours. Thanks to coffee, I am once again a champion. I dedicate this trophy to Peru Up Peru, Up Cusco and Up La Convencion! ”Said Dwight upon receiving this recognition.
As it is recalled, Dwight had already been a winner of the Cup of Excellence in 2018, with a coffee from the varieties Geisha and Bourbon, which reached a score of 91.08 points, making it the first producer in winning twice this prize. In 2020 his café had been ranked 10.
