Cuneo, the journalism award dedicated to Franco Bomprezzi on the relationship with disability and journalism

WEDGE – Over one million euros for the fourth edition of “Barolo en scoop”, the charity auction organized by Savings Bank Foundation of Cuneo con CRC Foundation Donate ETS and the Consortium for the protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani. During the event, donations arrived from the various offices of Christie’s (New York, London, Montreal), the auction house that certifies this event every year. The total raised for the award of 14 barriques of 200 liters will be entirely invested in projects of organisations Third Sector who deal with social impact, promotion of art and culture, growth of the welfare system for young people, people with disabilities and mothers in difficulty.

At the center is the concept of the gift. An event that «finds its centrality – declared the president of the CRC Foundation Mauro Gola – in the concept of the gift, understood not only as giving and receiving but above all as the “restitution” of something. It pays homage to feelings rather than people and embodies the values, principles and mission of the foundation. For us it is a charitable and cultural event, not only in its physical but above all cognitive and sensorial meaning.”

The tribute to Franco Bomprezzi, pioneer in the story of disability. “Barolo en primeur”, for the first time, also hosted the inauguration of the jury of the Bomprezzi-Capulli Award which also blew out its fourth candle on the tenth anniversary of the death of Franco Bomprezzi, pioneer of the story of the world of disability and inclusion. Since last year, another important competition dedicated to positive journalism has been held in memory of my Tg2 colleague Maria Grazia Capulli, creator and presenter of the television program “All the beauty there is”.

That idea of journalism of Franco and Grazia. For this edition of the two awards, services created between 25 October 2023 and 15 November 2024, closing date for applications, will be eligible to participate. A novelty that provides the possibility of proposing very topical services, articles and topics. «Franco and Grazia were two beacons who brought to the attention of the general public, with different ways and languages, news that until then concerned few experts – declares President Simonetta Morelli – At the basis of their daily commitment is an idea of the profession of the journalist which is, above all else, a mission of social responsibility“.

More space for disability issues. “Well – added Simonetta Morelli – this year we want to ask the editorial staff, those who decide what goes on the page or on the air, to give space to our themes, to say yes to proposals that could tell highly topical stories and contexts, talking about disability, social exclusion, but also opportunities and innovative solutions for social cohesion. Proposals that can become the new Bomprezzi – Capulli award winners.” The works will be evaluated by the director of Tg1, Gianmarco Chiocci and Peter Gomez of Fatto Quotidiano online.
