Today the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (PUA) set up by the Hamburg Citizenship to clarify cum-ex deals in Hamburg meets for its fourth meeting. The Green parliamentary group has sharply criticized cum-ex deals and calls for complete clarification and maximum transparency.
To Jennifer Jasberg, Parliamentary group chairman of the Green parliamentary group: “The Cum-Ex deals are the largest tax robbery in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. In the case of the allegations against the Warburg Bank, the parliamentary committee of inquiry is meeting in Hamburg for the fourth time today and is starting its substantive work, which is good. Highly complex tax fraud is an offense against our society that can only be dealt with with complete clarification and maximum transparency. Of course, there will be no sparing of the people to be interviewed. In the context of such a parliamentary referral, it is also due not to work either with prejudgments or with anticipated acquittals. As soon as the latest reports on the cum-ex business of Warburg Bank became known, we and our coalition partner applied for self-consideration in the budget committee and then called a special meeting on September 18, 2020. Of course, we will continue to be available for complete clarification and will also implement this in the context of the witness interviews. “
