Libreville, July 1, 2023 (AGP) – The traditional music festival was commemorated, delayed in Gabon, on Friday June 30, mobilizing more than a hundred national artists around a popular concert at the esplanade of the Gabon Television Group headquarters in Libreville.
The Ministry of Culture and the Arts in Gabon, celebrated the 41st edition of the Delayed Music Festival, on Friday June 30, 2023 at the esplanade of the Gabon television group headquarters under the theme “Afro Pop and tradi-modern”. .
The 2023 edition of this festival was marked by the organization of a popular concert which mobilized more than fifty artists, with performances in playback, semi-live and live. The event is dedicated to all artists, whether professional or amateur.
According to the Minister of Culture and the Arts, Max Samuel Oboumadjogo, the music festival, commemorated on a delayed basis on June 30, and the adoption of the text on the statutes of the artist on the same day by the two chambers of parliament ( National Assembly and the Senate), is a happy coincidence.
“Yes the music festival celebrated in Gabon, but which counts when the text of the statutes of the artist is adopted everywhere in the chambers of parliament. It’s a happy coincidence, in the sense that first of all it’s already been 6 months since we initiated to advance the text on the statutes of the artist. It passed very happily. Only the signatures of the government and the head of state remain,” said the Minister of Culture and the Arts.
For the Director of Arts and Entertainment, Franck Stéphane Dibault, this year’s music festival is an opportunity for artists from all musical disciplines, including gospel, rap, traditional-modern and many others , to perform on the stage.
“For this year’s culture festival, we are trying to develop Gabonese culture. We try to promote the profession, we try to establish the music, we try to give birth to Gabonese music. The celebration of the music festival this year is not a challenge, but just more work to ensure that all the artists are represented unlike previous editions, ”said the director of Arts and entertainment.
For their part, the Gabonese artists, who performed on the occasion of this celebration, said they were satisfied with the organization, the reception and the quality of the podium and the public.
“We are satisfied with the warm welcome given to us by the Ministry of Culture. Thank you to the Minister of Culture and the Arts, for highlighting Gabonese culture. This music festival has allowed us to make ourselves better known, especially those of us who are involved in culture,” said the traditional-modern group Mimbiasse.
