| Culture seeks to keep alive the historical cultural legacy of San José del Morro

After a meeting between the head of the Culture Program, Silvia Rapisarda, and the mayor of the town, Marcelo Silveira, they announced actions to revalue their heritage and other joint tasks.

The head of Culture of the Government of the Province of San Luis, Silvia Rapisarda, received the mayor of San José del Morro to revalue the historical cultural heritage of that town.

“In this network that we have formed of culture, in all the municipalities, we are going to work for the identities of each of the localities; In this case we are with the mayor of San José del Morro and the idea is to revalue the historical heritage that they have and with joint actions to revalue Pablo Lucero, who was governor of the province of San Luis, who was born and died in El Morro . We consider it important that not only the town is valued, but that its entire history is known and all that it contributed to the history and culture of the province. We have a very fruitful year to work on the cultural historical value that the town has and the personalities that exist and that make up cultural identity ”, said Rapisarda.

For his part, Marcelo Silveira expressed the importance of this meeting in which they agreed to work together for the historical cultural revaluation of different landmarks in the town. “We are working to highlight our historic center, revalue, publicize and empower the figure of Pablo Lucero, who was a military man, politician and governor throughout the 1840s. He carried out very important actions. It is a debt that we have and we are going to pay it off together to highlight its value and do justice to Lucero. I also appreciate the initiative that they had from Culture to take us into account to pay tribute to General San Martín, who is expensive in our feeling and who in his forced passage through the road of the posts passed through the town and even on some occasion had to stay here because his carriage broke ”, commented the communal chief.
