Simon Gradwohl from Eisenstadt began making music almost six years ago. His productions can now be found under the artist name “Lilah” on streaming platforms such as Spotify.
“In 2015 I downloaded my first program and started experimenting with it,” explains the 21-year-old. “At that time I was interested in how music is made. I’ve watched countless YouTube videos about it. That’s how I continued to develop myself and my music. “

He got to know the Berlin rap artist “Yin Kalle” early on. “We wrote a lot together and exchanged ideas. After all, he used a couple of my beats, ”says Gradwohl. “He always emphasized: ‘If I grow up with it, I will make sure that you get what you deserve.’” When the name “Yin Kalle” became more and more popular in the German-speaking scene a little later, Gradwohl’s audience also increased . As a result, other artists also became aware of the young Burgenlander and made contact with him.
The man from Eisenstadt relies on quality over quantity: “When I have a lot of time and inclination, I often sit down for several days and make beats,” says the rising artist. “When I’m motivated, the best comes out. I can’t force anything, ”he adds.
In addition to music production, Gradwohl catches up on his Matura in evening school. He’s been spending his summer holidays in Berlin since last year. There Gradwohl worked countless hours in the studio and made further contacts in the German rap scene.
Simon Gradwohl owes his rapid ascent to his willingness to work: “I have always stuck with it, worked hard, produced a lot and always tried to make a name for myself,” says the musician. Gradwohl now has just over 1,200 monthly listeners on the music streaming platform “Spotify”. “My goal has always been to grow together with other artists and to work closely with them,” said the man from Eisenstadt in an interview with the BVZ. That is why he also wants to help local names to become successful: “In the near future, we are planning a number of projects with rap musicians from Burgenland such as ‘timi’, ‘7meta’ and ‘Nicki Papa’,” he promises. Gradwohl also announces cooperation with Berlin rappers.
