London-Based Musician Culture Kid Releases Debut Single "New Found Evil"
A talented session musician with a passion for crafting his own sound, Culture Kid recently released his debut single, "New Found Evil," a captivating track now available on all major streaming platforms.
This London-based artist embodies the vibrant energy of the city while carrying a soulful Irish heritage.
"I’m a session musician based in London," Culture Kid shared. "Over the last couple of years, I’ve been playing drums for Cian Ducrot, Pa Sheehy and many others. Recently I’ve started releasing my own music."
Culture Kid’s musical journey is a fascinating one. Though born in London to Irish parents, he returned to the city just recently, making a full circle back to where his life began:
"Although I am Irish, I was born in London. I recently moved back to London and am living with my partner, around the corner from where I was born! It’s been a nice full circle."
Describing himself as a "night owl" who’s "learning" to save, Culture Kids finds inspiration in everyday moments.
“I visited home recently to play some gigs with the lads," he recalls. "We got up at 7am on the Saturday morning for a sea swim and sauna – followed by a coffee in Some Dose. That most definitely made me happy.”
While exploring new avenues in music, Culture Kid’s path has led him to collaborate with some impressive names. Sharing the stage with Cian Ducrot at a sold-out performance in Cork’s Musgrave Park this past summer stands out as a pinnacle moment in his career.
"I played Musgrave Park with Cian Ducrot during the summer," Culture Kid reveals. "It’s probably the biggest show I’ve played. I studied music down the road in CSN, so it was another quite surreal full circle moment.”
Looking ahead, Culture Kid is focused on carving a unique path within the music scene, determined to connect with listeners through his own artistic voice:
"The plan is to eventually release an album, late ’25.”
Culture Kid expresses a simple yet profound desire to leave a positive mark on the world:
"How would you like to be remembered?"
Culture Kid smiles and responds:
"Just for being sound. And if the art I make left a mark, that’d be pretty cool too.”
