Culture in the Neighborhoods: Lamentin’s Vibrant Street Parade to Kick off Vacationer Exodus

A week later, the emptying of vacationers will take place this Sunday. From 3 p.m., the groups from Lamentin will go through the streets of the city. And the least we can say is that the atmosphere will be there with the town’s seven street orchestras which will liven up the neighborhoods over a distance of 4.03 km.

Monique Crasparg, president of the Office de la culture du Lamentin, gives the details of this event which meets a real need on the part of the population.

We leave from Place d’Armes, we enter the city. It is the same device with the groups on foot. Sé nou mem, Nou pa sav, I bon kon sa, our Lamentin groups who will animate this parade. After two years of Covid, people need to get out, they need this.

Culture in the neighborhoods

This video is part of the “Kilti an Kartié” program which aims to bring culture in all its forms to the city’s neighborhoods.

It’s entertainment, we move around, we bring culture to the neighborhoods. And then there are sporting events and then also cultural events for groups and artists. Its very important.

Note that the start will be given in the parking lot of the Georges Gratiant stadium in Place d’Armes.
