The Culture Day was celebrated in Jonava on Tuesday – on this occasion, the culture workers of the district were invited to a festive afternoon, they were presented with awards and thanks, the municipality reports.
The director of the public library of the Jonava district municipality, Skirmutė Gajauskaitė, was the first to be honored and congratulated during the celebration. The award was presented to her by Audronė Bagdonavičienė, the assistant of the member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Eugenijaus Sabutis.
Vijolė Šadauskienė, a member of the municipal council of Jonava district, congratulated and thanked the librarians Dalia Plaktonienė, Regina Lukoševičienė, Vita Radionovienė, and Laura Grėbliūniėė for their long-term work, nurturing of cultural values and various social initiatives.
Council member Birutė Gailienė congratulated and thanked Jurgita Serapina, deputy director for cultural activities of the Jonava District Municipal Cultural Center (JKC) for her long-term creative contribution at the cultural festival.
Solveiga Maslauskaitė, head of JKC’s vocal ensemble “Presto”, Gerda Mykolaitienė, head of JKC’s senior folk dance group “Varūna” and line dance group “Aksoma”, Dalė Toločkienė, art director of JKC’s Swiss branch, received thanks for promoting Jonava’s name and winnings at various festivals.
Rugilė Viola Paplauskaitė, the chairperson of the association “Jonavas culture volunteers” was awarded for her active volunteering activities and unpaid assistance at JKC events, and Rasa Libienė, educator of the JKC regional museum, was honored for the organization of 24 thematic education and project events “Šiaudinis sodas – eternal engine” that foster ethno-cultural traditions.
