Latin American Summary, August 28, 2024.
At the Buenos Aires headquarters of UBA Sociales, the Che Adelita Cultural Front y The Street Does Not Keep Silentpresented several plays that analyze and critically respond to the difficult reality that surrounds us. From labor relations in Argentina to the Palestinian genocide, several stinging themes, interpreted by fellow actors and actresses, demonstrated that these are not moments of passivity or navel-gazing, but of action.
There have always been struggles against the fascist authoritarianism of those in power, and artistic expressions that are intertwined with these struggles have never ceased to emerge. That is why coming together serves and means defeating the “I don’t get involved” attitude, and if it also helps inform and educate, all the better.
At the end of the performances, debate and exchange arose between actors and audience, with very good contributions to continue building spaces of counter-hegemonic culture.
