Five venues in the three towns located on the Camino Frances de Santiago host the 2021 edition of The Ages of Man, ‘Lux’. to Burgos cathedral It is one of the scenarios, under the subtitle ‘Faith and art in the time of the cathedrals (1050-1550)’, with a preamble entitled ‘New times, new changes’, which is followed by the seven chapters distributed by the cathedral temple .
The churches of Santa María del Camino and Santiago are the two venues that host ‘Lux‘ on Carrión de los Condes (Palencia). They host three chapters of the show: ‘Ave, Maria’, ‘Tota Pulchra’ and ‘Virgo et Mater’, with fifty masterpieces of the art of Pedro Berruguete and his son Alonso Berruguete, Alejo de Vahía, Fernando Gallego, Diego de Siloé, Felipe Vigarny, Juan de Valmaseda, Ortiz El Viejo or Gregorio Fernández, as well as medieval works of great artistic and religious importance.
On Sahagun (León), the exhibition takes place in two iconic temples of Mudejar art in the community, such as the Sanctuary of the Pilgrim Virgin and the church of San Tirso, where different works of art are exhibited, grouped in the chapters ‘Mater Misericordiae’ and ‘Salve, Regina’. A special edition of The Ages of Man on the occasion of the celebration of the Jacobean Year 21-22 and within the framework of the commemoration of the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral. Burgos 2021, that make it the main historical and cultural event in the Community, within the Board’s commitment to culture and heritage as an important element energizer and generator wealth economic through tourism.
With the aim of offering a quality tourism product and increasing economic activity thanks to tourism, 16 routes by the closest environment of these towns, which bring together cultural, heritage, food and wine proposals and the enjoyment of nature.
