2021, the start of a new era for the Bistrot de la Scène
After 35 years of existence in the cultural landscape of Dijon, Le Bistrot de la Scène, in difficulty by the health crisis and the drop in subsidies, announced the definitive closure of its doors during last year. At the very start of 2021, the performance hall narrowly escaped closure thanks to the support of the Department and the takeover of the office by former staff members. They have launched a crowdfunding campaign to ensure a future for this emblematic place that is dear to them.
Change of management within the Bistrot de la Scène
At the end of 2020, Aurélien Chevalier, formerly sound manager of Bistrot de la Scène, takes over the Presidency of the Théâtre de l’Inédit association, which manages the organization of the performance hall.
François Mérilleau, the founder and director of the Bistrot de la Scène, passed the torch to Elodie Longueville, administrator of the place from 2012 to 2017, who resumed her duties at the beginning of this year.

The Bistrot de la Scène calls for donations to revive this emblematic place in Dijon.

Work already underway to ensure the reception of the public in a larger and modernized space, when the health situation allows.
On the building side, expansion work has already started.
From optimizing the stage to redefining the spaces, everything has been redesigned to accommodate more spectators, in a new setting that respects the original spirit of the Bistrot de la Scène: enlargement of the bar, refreshing of the paintings in the room and the facade, redevelopment of offices …
