Flexible jobs allow you to earn extra untaxed money as a worker or retiree. At the moment, only catering establishments and retailers can apply for the scheme, but from January the government wants flexible jobs to be possible also in the agriculture, horticulture, sports, culture, events and assistance sectors .
The unions in the health sector have previously expressed their opposition to the measure. Now the cultural unions follow, denouncing that the measure will be introduced in the midst of a reform of the artist’s statute.
“The government has promised better status for employees in the cultural sector and is now implementing flexible jobs,” they jointly complain. “By flexible work we mean an infinite succession of fixed-term contracts and therefore no guarantee of income, a gross salary below the sectoral minimum already very low in itself, unstable and unpredictable working hours, no double holiday allowance, and so on. While we need stable jobs and longer contracts instead of a further reduction in working conditions ”.
The unions also denounced that the decision was taken “without any consultation”.
