Vegesack. The summer break is coming to an end: The Bremen-Nord cultural office has organized a diverse program of comedy, cabaret and music for the coming months. A selection.

Action week

The action weeks against exclusion and discrimination will take place in the north of Bremen from August 28th to September 13th. In events, workshops and hands-on activities, participants can campaign for diverse lifestyles, participation and solidarity. For example, on Wednesday, August 28th, from 4 p.m. there will be a practical fair in the Kulturbahnhof where initiatives and associations will present their anti-racism work. From 6 p.m. rapper Queenwho will rock the stage. “The Silence of Mr. Hassler”: As part of the action weeks, Martin Heckmann and Heide Marie Voigt are inviting people to a reading with music in the Kito on Wednesday, September 11th at 8 p.m. With a particular passion for feminist issues, “Josi” stands up to derogatory behavior on her internet profile “josischreibt_” and explains things with specialist knowledge and facts. For Friday, September 13th at 8 p.m. she is inviting people to an event entitled “Delete yourself, you f****! – What forms of digital violence do Flinta people experience online?” to a lecture at the Kulturbahnhof. Admission to all events during the action weeks is free. Donations are welcome.

Comedy and cabaret

She describes herself as “the funniest caterpillar in the German comedy and cabaret scene”: The accordionist, singer, actress and comedian Carmela de Feo, alias “La Signora”, will be showing her new program “Big! Blonde! Successful!” on Saturday, September 7th at 8 p.m. in the Kito. “Species-appropriate – a beastly human program”; under this title, Daphne de Luxe will be offering situational comedy, improvisational talent and the odd song on Friday, October 25th at 8 p.m. in the community center. On Wednesday, November 6th, Simon & Jan will be guests at the Kito and will simply be presenting “The Best” – from 16 wild years of musical cabaret. It starts at 8 p.m. “Everything in Wonderland” is the name of Max Uthoff’s current cabaret program. On Saturday, November 16, he will be coming to the community center and will examine the madness of our times in his usual underhanded and absurd way. It starts at 8 p.m.

Concerts

After a tour with the full band to mark the band’s 40th anniversary, Latin Quarter wants to set completely new standards as an acoustic quartet in 2024. What that sounds like can be experienced on Sunday, September 29th, 8 p.m., at the Kito. On Saturday, October 12th, 8 p.m., there will be a Pink Floyd tribute show in the community center. The “Kings Of Floyd” invite you on a musical journey where listeners can immerse themselves in the epic sounds and psychedelic worlds of the British rock legends. Ulla Meinecke will stop at the Kito on Saturday, November 9th with her “Tour 24”. The lyrics of the self-proclaimed “hardcore romantic” are about true love, small escapes, big dramas and strong exits. It starts at 8 p.m.
