Cult club proceeds from Osiander Biberach donated to children

The cult club of the Osiandersche Buchhandlung Biberach donated €250 to the Wish Book campaign of the Children in Need Foundation in Biberach. Wish Book provides children from low-income families in the Biberach district with low-threshold access to books who otherwise have little support. From October 4 to 15, 2024, book requests can be sent by email to the Children in Need Foundation (Daniela Steiner, [email protected]). The selected book can cost up to 20 euros and is then sent to your home free of charge by the Osiander bookstore. Children and young people up to the age of 18 who live in the Biberach district and live on state transfer payments can take part. The bookstore is also involved in sending the books and more. For branch manager Sibylle Burkhart, it is important: “Education and reading are children’s rights, which my team and I are very happy to support.”

With the Wish Book campaign, the Children in Need Foundation would like to draw attention to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, in particular to Article 28 “Access to Education”: Every child has the right to education. Basic education should be free. Secondary and higher education should be available to every child. Every child should be supported in achieving the highest possible school and training qualification. Schools should be non-violent and respect children’s rights.

(Source: “Education is an important cornerstone for making children strong for successful life paths,” emphasizes Anna Bantleon, Managing Director of Kinder in Not Biberach.
