Cuijk city council meets online after threat

The city council of Cuijk is meeting online tonight because a threat has come in. The threat was directed at the municipality in general and not at an individual administrator or department.

The name and address of the attacker are known to the police. It is unclear whether anyone has been arrested. Additional security measures have been taken for an indefinite period, reports Broadcasting Brabant.

No announcements have been made about the nature of the threat, but it was not a bomb threat, the municipality said in a statement. The threat came in at a different address. That agency has warned the municipality.

The town hall was closed to the public for an hour this afternoon while the police investigated. Civil servants continued to work. City Hall will be closed for the next few days. People who have an appointment have to ring the bell and are then let in.
