Study on the management of cucumber mosaic virus by organic and inorganic extracts.
Cucumber mosaic virus is one of the most devastating and widespread pathogens. Thus, in a study, it was successfully transmitted to indicator plants (chilli, tomato and chenopodium) by inoculation of the sap.
After the infectivity test, the researchers inoculated cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) on cucumber plants grown in the greenhouse. Then, the management of CMV in cucumber was carried out with different plants (Neem, Eucalyptus) and plant defense activators (urea, salicylic acid and milk). These treatments were used 7 to 10 days after CMV inoculation.

In addition, botanicals were used at 5 m / L, urea at 5 g / L, salicylic acid at 1.5 mg / L and milk at 1 ml / 9 ml. Among the different treatments, neem extract with 15.49% disease incidence was the best to reduce disease of cucumber mosaic virus, followed by eucalyptus (18.13%), l urea (18.65%), salicylic acid (19.46%) and milk (28.12%) in that order. Therefore, treatment with neem extract has been shown to be more effective for the management of CMV.
