Cubs concerned about possible COVID-19 outbreak

The Chicago Cubs are concerned about a possible COVID-19 outbreak after two coaches tested positive for the coronavirus.

The team placed three relievers on the disabled list for reasons related to the condition.

On Monday, the Cubs announced positive results from bullpen coach Chris Young. First-class coach Craig Driver was out of the squad after another positive result.

Relievers Brandon Workman, Jason Adam and Dan Winkler were included on the COVID-19 injured list. The club did not say whether that measure was the result of a positive test or contact tracing.

Despite the problems, manager David Ross said Monday night’s game, the first of a series in Milwaukee, was not at risk of being postponed.
