Cuban Vice Prime Minister Ramiro Valdés had a traffic accident in Havana

Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, was involved in a traffic accident this weekend near Paseo and 23 avenues, in El Vedado, Havana.

According to several official Facebook pages, the incident occurred last Saturday around 7:30 am, when a motorcyclist allegedly ignored the stop signs marked by an agent of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) and collided with the luxurious Mercedes -Benz of one of the most important people in the Castro regime.

As expected, the profiles linked to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) took advantage of what happened to boast of the “humanity” of the official, noting that he got out of his car, valued at about $50,000, to “help” the injured person.

These profiles are not officially affiliated with the State, but they share the same points in all their posts, and on this occasion, they did their best to leave the Island’s deputy prime minister in a good light.

“Everyone saw that, the man dismounted and participated with his escort in helping the one on the motorcycle. There was another person who also loaded it and introduced it to a vehicle that would take it to the Calixto García Hospital,” a witness allegedly said.

At the moment, it is known that the motorcyclist suffered a fractured fibula, and that throughout the journey to the hospital, he apologized for having hit the luxurious car.

While the witnesses affirmed that the officers present told him not to worry, the citizen’s fear was understandable, since with an average salary of 4,000 CUP per month, any ordinary Cuban would go into debt for a long time to pay for something like that.

The image, shared in various groups on Facebook, shows the Castro official marching down the street while a PNR officer picks up the crashed motorcycle and another, presumably, guides the injured citizen to a place where he can be treated.

Some members of the group ‘Accidents, Buses & Camiones, for more experience and less victim’ pointed out that it was obvious that the deputy prime minister would not act in a violent or arrogant manner in that situation, since he had to keep up appearances, however, they pointed out that he would bad could come from the hands of his subordinates.

“When you get tangled up with a big one of those, nothing happens, those fish are not bad in some circumstances, now the tilapia below, those do tear you to pieces and if you stay alive, you go to the dungeon,” he added.

Several Internet users were concerned about the possible consequences. (Screenshot: Facebook)
