Five people were injured in a stabbing in the late evening of Sunday 29 November between two parties on Bagabagastraat. The suspect, 33-year-old Cuban AD, was found and arrested on the spot.
Research showed that the friends argued among themselves about their partners. One of them became angry and armed himself with a sharp object, with which he stabbed his ‘opponent’. The others who also interfered with the case also suffered stab injuries, the Police Force Suriname has just reported.
The police of the Geyersvlijt office visited the location after the report of a stabbing with some injured people. On arrival, five injured people were found who were taken by ambulance to the Emergency Room of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo. After medical treatment, four of them were sent away, while the 34-year-old EG is admitted to the hospital for nursing.
AD was taken to the police station for arraignment. The sharp object has been confiscated pending the investigation. After consultation with the Surinamese Public Prosecution, he was put in custody reports the police.
