A young Cuban mother has become a medical miracle, and a testimony of hope in difficult times, after beginning her recovery after falling into a coma on March 28, in Tampa, Florida.
Adrianna Hernández suffered seizures and several strokes that left her in a coma at the end of last month. Since then she has been admitted to the Melech Hospice House, in Temple Terrace.
Although initially the doctors had asked her relatives to “prepare for the worst,” since April 9, the woman began to show visible improvement.
When she was admitted at the end of March, doctors gave her a bleak prognosis, with a survival rate of just 0.01%.
But the constant presence of her husband, as well as her father, who recently arrived in the United States, seems to have motivated the woman to continue fighting for her life, since her improvement is such that she can even respond to stimuli.
A video shared by Instagram user Yandi Barnada shows how Arianna responds to the requests made by her husband, who asks her to smile and stick out her tongue, requests that are followed by Arianna.
“A little smile from your daddy, there,” the man is heard saying while he hums and dances, movements that the woman also follows attentively with her eyes.
“Thanks to God and the prayers and donations of all people, you are improving Arianna, God will continue to fill you with blessings and will continue to take care of you, champion strength, you are a goddess,” the user wrote in the caption of the publication.
After the cerebral infarctions she suffered, Arianna “was left without oxygen for several minutes,” and her cells died, causing irreversible damage, which is why doctors kept the diagnosis reserved.
However, it seems that little by little she has been able to overcome her predictions, although the consequences that the aforementioned lack of oxygen could have on her cognitive and motor skills are not yet visible.
Recently, Cubans in Tampa requested help for the son of Arianna, affectionately known as ‘La China’, due to the situation his mother is in.
Although her father recently arrived from Cuba, he does not have a job or resources to cover the expenses that this situation entails, including the woman’s wake, if the worst were to happen.
