Cuban father confirms the death of his daughter run by an old woman in Miami

It was revealed that Stephanie Figueredo, who was seven years old, died in hospital after spending four days in a coma. this after he was run over by an elderly woman outside a pharmacy in Miami-Dade.

The father of the minor, Cuban Yoany Figueredo, confirmed what happened to the media. Unionreveals that doctors performed all possible tests before concluding that the little girl suffered brain death.

“My daughter is officially dead. All the tests were done and he did not respond. The mother and I decided to donate all her organs,” said the man shortly after he was told the unfortunate news.

As a tribute, the family received a teddy bear with a record of the girl’s heartbeat inside.

“When they gave it to me and I heard it, I broke down,” said the father of the minor while crying.

Stephanie will be celebrated in the outfit her family reserved for her for her eighth birthday, which would be celebrated on September 21.

The girl was the youngest of four siblings and was in second grade at a local school, where several teachers described her as a bright and attractive little girl.

“In seven years, she achieved more than many of us achieve in a lifetime,” said one of her teachers.

an unfortunate accident

The incident in which the little man was seriously injured happened last Monday, September 2, when she was in the company of her mother outside Navarro’s discount pharmacy in Coral Gables.

The family was out doing the last shopping for Stephanie’s older brother’s birthday, and while crossing the street, they were hit by an elderly woman’s car.

The girl’s mother was slightly injured, but Stephanie was the cause of the accident. The 92-year-old driver remained at the scene until authorities arrived, telling them she had gotten distracted and ended up stepping on the accelerator instead of the brake.

The elderly woman was cited for reckless driving, however, it has not been confirmed whether she will face criminal charges.

After the incident, the family of the minor asked to establish more control over old drivers.

“My daughter will always be in the hearts of those who knew her, but I hope this will help prevent more accidents,” said the father in front of the media.
