The world of art and culture in Cuba is in mourning for the sad news of the death of Cuban actor Rubén Breña Río, who had an outstanding participation in radio, television, cinema and theater.
Breña was recognized for his great talent and ability to interpret his characters, which earned him the love and admiration of his audience and colleagues. His artistic career was extensive and varied, participating in numerous theatrical, television and film productions.
On television, his work was especially recognized in soap operas such as Tierra Brava, Historias de Fuego, Cuando el agua regresa a la tierra and in the story Blue is blue. In addition, he won important awards at television festivals for his outstanding work in Al compás del son and Emma Sunz.
In the cinema, Breña participated in films such as Guantanamera, Put your thought on me, Vertical love, The nights of Constantinople, Roble de olor (Cuba-Spain co-production), When the truth awakens, Mambí, Valeria barefoot, Waiting list, Cabinda , Give me back my son (Cuba-Italy co-production) and Personal objects, among others.
During his artistic life, Breña received numerous recognitions and awards for his work, including the Male Performance Award on television, the Caricatos Mention for the play Blues Azul I, the Caricatos Mention for the play El 19, the Mariposa Award for Tierra Brava and the ACTUAR Award for the Work of Life in 2019.
