Cuban actor Jorge Losada was discharged after spending almost a month hospitalized in Havana, due to complications with a hip replacement.

According to the independent media CubaNetthe 91-year-old actor was admitted to the “Manuel Fajardo” Clinical Surgical University Hospital in the Cuban capital, where he underwent hip surgery due to problems caused by an old prosthesis.

“The actor has improved and feels better from the severe pain he suffered,” an anonymous person close to the artist told the aforementioned media.

Last March, Losada spoke with the same media before entering the hospital for a scheduled surgery to accommodate the previously installed prosthesis.

Due to his advanced age and the delicacy of the area, the actor explained that there was no possibility of changing the prosthesis for a new one, as that could end up breaking the bone.

“I had very bad pain and they found that the hip prosthesis that they had put in me years ago was out of place when they were going to perform another operation for a different problem, and that is why I could barely walk. “They can’t give me another prosthesis now because I’m older and they decided to give me physical therapy,” he explained to the media on April 6.

Actress Valia Valdés Rivero also announced the actor’s poor health, commenting on her social networks that the actor had health problems, although without giving many details.

“He is well cared for, from Monday to Friday at the Fajardo hospital and on weekends he rests at home,” he said on his Facebook.

On the same social network, Valia stressed that what the actor needs most at this moment is love and emotional support.

“Let him know you care about him. It is time to support him,” she asked.

Regarding the medical care he is receiving, the actor thanked the physiotherapy team, who “carefully” cares about him.

The veteran actor is about to appear again on Cuban television screens, with his new soap opera “Renacer”, scheduled to premiere at the end of this year.
