(VOVWORLD) – The XXVI Meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum, held in the Brazilian capital, declared Cuba a Universal Heritage of Dignity for its heroic resistance to the economic blockade of the United States for the last more than 60 years.

The meeting, held over four days under the motto “Regional integration to advance Latin American and Caribbean sovereignty”, was attended by 170 members of the forum, 80 international guests and 300 Cuban delegates.
A Vietnamese delegation, led by Le Hong Quang, a member of the Communist Party Central Committee and secretary of the party committee in the southern province of An Giang, also participated in the gathering.
The final Declaration of the event indicated that “the dignity of the Cuban people is an example for all the nations and popular parties of the world.”
The delegates to the forum agreed to condemn and demand the unconditional lifting of the blockade, at the same time that they demanded the exclusion of Cuba from the list of State sponsors of terrorism.
At the same time, the text rejected unilateral sanctions against Nicaragua and Venezuela, and interference in the internal affairs of these countries.
In the Declaration, the Sao Paulo Forum called for unity against attempts to divide the world between West and East, which fuel animosities and conflicts that put all of humanity at risk.
