In Tehran, the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cuba-Iran Economic Relations began this Sunday, which has among its objectives to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the event, the PastoCorona vaccine production plant was inaugurated, technology transfer of the Soberana 02 vaccine from the Finlay Vaccine Institute to the Pasteur Institute.
The Cuban Vice Prime Minister, Ricardo Cabrisas, who chairs the island’s delegation in the Persian country, pointed out that the exchanges with different Iranian organizations and institutions during this occasion will allow evaluating the development of economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations between both nations.
The Iranian side at the meeting is represented by Health Minister Bahram Ainollahi and other high-level government officials.
Other members of the Cuban delegation are the Minister of Energy and Mines, Liván Arronte; the general director of bilateral affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada; the Cuban ambassador to Iran, Alberto González, and the deputy ministers of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Déborah Rivas, and of the Food Industry, Diorgys Hernández.
The eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Relations will last until Tuesday, May 17. Iran and Cuba will sign documents for the exchange on pharmaceutical products, agriculture, customs, food industry and vaccine production.
