“It is the student community itself that decides who wins. It is not a film critic, it is not a jury, it is not perhaps someone with a very long career, but rather recognizing those of us who are at the same level of experience. It is very interesting and very exciting that it was taken into account and that it has traveled to several countries,” said Patricia Hernández.
Ferruco It tells the story of José Alfredo Aragón Cruz, a park ranger at the Las Joyas Scientific Station. (ECLJ) in the Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve, where he has found refuge in his drug rehabilitation process and with his colleagues seeks the opportunity to redeem themselves through their work.
“I was left with the desire to be able to tell his story, Ferruco and I have known each other for a long time, since I was a child I used to go to the Jewelry Science StationHe would pick me up and take me around the station; I think that is where the affection that grew over time came from (…) The intention is to tell his story, to share what he has experienced, his pain, to work on the narrative between grief and this wonderful space; how he functioned in this long battle that is addiction,” said Imanol Vidal.
He films will have its premiere and start of its festival route at the International Short Film Festival of Mexico (Shorts Mexico)as well as exhibitions at the Cineteca Nacional de las Artes, at the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC) of the UNAM. “We are very excited and happy because we have always been told that cinema is made when it interacts with the viewer; and that Ferruco “We are very excited that the film will start to reach the big screen to have this exchange with the public, between the story and its emotions,” added Imanol Vidal.
