“Many people ask, is it possible for Indonesia to have a recession? I said that Indonesia is very small or even impossible to experience recession,” said CT.

He explained, there are a number of factors that cause uncertain economic conditions. Call it, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t ended yet, so we don’t know maybe next year, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, this pandemic will just end. However, the emergence of this new variant does not make the severity higher, it will get lower. We hope that COVID-19 will so the common cold,” he said.
In addition to the pandemic, economic uncertainty has also been triggered by a protracted war between countries. CT itself predicts, the war will not be finished in the near future.
“Then there is the uncertainty that the world is still going on. The war I have to say will not be over in the near future, it will definitely be a long time. Why? Because America and its allies will never let Ukraine lose to Russia. As an illustration America has agreed to US$ 40 billion to Ukraine in the form of weapons,” he explained.
“So it is impossible for Ukraine to lose, and Russia cannot withdraw because of the Vladimir Putin factor. We will not know what will happen, so the war will continue for a long time,” he continued.
Then, CT also mentioned that China’s zero COVID policy has also had a major influence on the world economy. CT explained, the policy had an effect on the supply of goods.
“Then the China zero COVID policy has a big impact on the supply of types of goods. So if the lockdown affects the world. And hopefully the Chinese President realizes that the new COVID variant is not too dangerous and can slowly leave the zero COVID policy,” he explained.
