This autumn there will be dancing again on ČT1. Five famous men will join the five famous women Marta Dancingerová, Jana Paulová, Martina Ptáčková, Chili Ta and Lucia Vondráčková. The invitation to the competition was accepted by actor Filip Blažek, writer Patrik Hartl, actor Oskar Hes, paralympian Jiří Ježek and musician Ondřej Ruml. Last year, the twelfth year, broke previous records on ČT social networks – more than four hundred posts and short videos had seventy million impressions or views.

“The support from fans on social media has been truly extraordinary and proves that StarDance is popular with viewers of all ages. That is also why we are appealing to personalities without age limits with the offer to participate in the competition. We are looking for those who excel in their fields. Great actresses, phenomenal athletes and an original cook appeared in this year’s final selection. The men’s line-up is no less attractive. All of this year’s five have already achieved fantastic success in their careers. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for everyone,” says the StarDance creative producer Lucie Kapounová.
Writer Patrick Hartl is one of the most widely read authors today. He specializes in film and theater directing. „I haven’t moved from a laptop in thirty years and felt an intense need to change that this summer. I needed to take a break from the fictional world of my stories and experience something for myself. For example, to do something that may be pointless, but that I will be happy about. And at that moment I got a call from Czech Television. I knew right away that StarDance would bring me to life.”
Actor Oskar Hess drew attention to himself in the miniseries Rédl, the two-part TV movie Dukla 61 and recently also with his performance in the drama Brothers. “StarDance seems to me to be a great opportunity to learn something new, to get in shape in two months, which I have lost lately. I’m not very active right now. It’s going to be like a fun dance camp for me and I’m really looking forward to it all starting. Dance is very close to me.”
Athlete Jiří Jezek is the most successful cyclist in Paralympic history. At home, he has a total of eleven medals from the Games under five rings, six of which are gold. “In StarDance cI want to overcome myself, I have never really danced. A lot of my friends went through the competition and they all said it was a wonderful experience, mainly because of the great team that will form around the show. I want to experience that.’
Musician Ondrej Ruml he is the winner of the Golden Record for the album with the songs of Ježek, Voskovec and Werich and excels in the title role of the musical Lazarus in the Municipal Theaters of Prague. “I have been in show business for about fifteen years and StarDance is one of the best formats of TV entertainment we have here. I will have to outdo myself in the competition. I look forward to it!”
