The health facility received equipment and saw some of its services brought up to standard thanks to the support of the bank.
The Dibombari District Hospital in the Littoral region can now offer better care to the more than 20,000 people in the commune. This population was sometimes forced to go to Bonassama hospital in the Douala 4th district to have access to better technical facilities. This trip will no longer be necessary thanks to the support that BGFI Bank Cameroun has just provided to the Dibombari district hospital which is crumbling under the weight of its 68 years of life.
The donation from BGFI Bank Cameroon consisted in particular of the redevelopment of the emergency department by bringing it into line with standards. In the maternity ward, a work room has been created. A sampling room as well as a waiting room have been set up at the laboratory level. The financial institution also contributed to the establishment of a real blood bank which until now operated using a refrigerator. This, in addition to the various equipment that was offered. Among other things, an oxygen humidifier, hospital mattresses, water reserves with a capacity of 6000 liters. The bank thus responded to a cry from the heart of a native of the locality who had contacted the Managing Director of BGFI Bank by letter to present the difficulties of this health facility. “After watching the ADG of BGFIBANK Cameroon, Mr. Abakal MAHAMAT on social networks, I said to myself why not. Here is a director who does a lot for the populations, why not those of Dibombari? Today it’s like a dream come true,” rejoices Irene Patience ESSOUNGOU, initiator of the request.
If the financial value of this donation has not been revealed, this support is a relief for the populations of Dibombari and its surroundings, testifies the mayor of the city. “ Finding a bank that makes donations is rare today. I say thank you to BGFI Bank and the entire BGFI community. It is rare to see a management that travels like this to make a donation », declared Justin BEJEDI NDAME on September 14 during a solemn ceremony relating to this.
The gesture of BGFI Bank Cameroon at the Dibombari district hospital is not the first towards hospitals. In January 2023, the bank offered a generator and a borehole to Laquintinie in Douala.
BGFI Bank Cameroon is the local subsidiary of BGFI Holding Corporation present in 12 countries. The group is 100% privately owned and is the leader in its domestic market, Gabon.
