ČSAD Liberec rejuvenates its vehicle fleet, this year it has already bought 32 new buses

The region-owned carrier acquires new buses on loan from ČSOB.

A major renewal of the bus fleet is taking place this year at ČSAD Liberec. The carrier, owned by the Liberec Region through Autobusy LK, today introduced another thirteen Iveco Crossway vehicles and two smaller VDL MB Sprinter buses. In total, the company will purchase 32 new buses this year.

ČSAD Liberec paid 56.37 million crowns for thirteen new Iveco Crossway buses, and 4.3636 million crowns without VAT for one. All buses are low-floor and air-conditioned. It measures 12 meters and can accommodate 45 seated and 35 standing passengers. The purchase is financed by the carrier with a loan from ČSOB. Already in the spring, the carrier introduced seventeen identical vehicles.

“The equipment of all new buses is, in terms of utility value and passenger comfort, in the highest possible design offered by the manufacturer. At the same time, according to our experience, these are quality cars that should reduce the cost of operation and maintenance in the coming periods and be a long-term and stable part of the ČSAD Liberec bus fleet,“Said Martin Bobek from the management of ČSAD Liberec. The configuration includes, for example, a driver’s refrigerator, Thermoking air conditioning, Lineo Fix seats with seat belts or heated exterior electronically controlled rear-view mirrors and a windscreen.

The Liberec region wants to to extend the scope of ČSAD Liberec to the area of ​​Českolipsko, where ČSAD Česká Lípa still runs.

Special buses for crossing

ČSAD Liberec acquired two new smaller buses for Chrastavsko and Hrádecko. These are VDL MB Sprinter 514 CDI minibuses with a seating capacity of 14 + 4 (folding seats) and eight standing seats. The price is CZK 2.965 million without VAT. “These buses replace the previous two cars of the same category from 2006. In order to pass safely through the railway crossing in Andělská Hora, special cars with a higher ground clearance with minimal overlaps in front of and behind the rear axle are needed on the line. “ explained Deputy Governor Jan Sviták.
