Crytek: Hunt Showdown Engine Update Will Bring Parity Between PC and Consoles

General manager Hunt: Showdown David Fifield in an interview MP1st commented on the upcoming update of the shooter engine and the abandonment of versions for PS4 and Xbox One. Nn stated that one of the goals of the upgrade is parity between platforms.

According to Fifield, this is how Crytek will “level up” Hunt: Showdown on PC and consoles – both by release dates of patches and DLC, as well as content. Currently, shooter updates are coming out on consoles with some delay.

Besides that, boss Hunt: Showdown noted that parity will also allow the introduction of full-fledged cross-play, but such functionality will not be available at the start. The current version of the shooter has a selection of players from different platforms, but it is impossible to deliberately gather a group of friends on PC and consoles.

With engine update Hunt: Showdown Crytek studio will release native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The engine upgrade is expected in early 2024.
