Crytek Announces Plans for Support and Development of Hunt: Showdown in 2023-2024

Last week, developers from Crytek spoke about their plans for support and development Hunt: Showdown from the end of 2023 to the first half of 2024. The general manager of the franchise, Devil Fywild, spoke about the upcoming changes.

In particular, Crytek is preparing closer interaction between players Hunt: Showdown on all platforms, so the PC version of the shooter will get aiming assistance in the style of consoles.

The winter update will adjust the dead zone on consoles, add options for aiming assistance and faster camera rotation; later there will be an option to reassign buttons and rework the wheel with weapons

A weapon inspection function will appear

Updating the network infrastructure – reducing latency, more responsive inventory, and so on

Complete interface overhaul with a focus on navigation and readability

Reworked matchmaking, team voice chat

CryEngine engine update – new map with new biomes, launch of versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS4 and Xbox One will be phased out in April 2024

Transition Hunt: Showdown will be free for the new generation – player account progress will also be carried over

At the first stage, the updated CryEngine will receive DirectX 12. FSR 2.1.2, DirectStorage and HDR

With the CryEngine update on PC, the minimum requirements will increase Hunt: Showdown.

Intel 7th generation 7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600

NVIDIA GTX 1650 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (minimum 4 GB of video memory)

1080p resolution and low graphics settings

Hunt: Showdown available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. On new consoles, the shooter runs backwards compatible at 60 FPS.
