During Tottenham’s visit to Crystal Palace, on October 27, Heung-Min Son was insulted by a group of subjects while he was on the sideline of the field.
In the images captured by television, a man was shown who made fun of the Korean soccer player’s features; The person made a gesture as if imitating Heung-Min’s slanted eyes, which led to the rejection of those who observed the images.
Given this situation, the Premier League investigated the incident and the man was punished with three years away from any stadium in England.
Heung-Min Son was the target of racism by a Crystal Palace fan at the time of his substitution.
Crystal Palace reacted in a statement:
“When the fan is identified, they will be banned from the club. We do not tolerate this type of behavior at our club.”
