“Cruzeiro seeks government intervention to play at Mineirão for Copa do Brasil match”

With talks at a standstill with Minas Arena to play at Mineirão, the cruise awaits the response to the formal request made to the Government of Minas Gerais to return to work in the Mineirão. The request was made to the State for the team to send the match against Náutico, on the 25th of this month, for the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.

The request was made in order to enforce clause 16 of the contract signed in 2010, between the Government of Minas and Minas Arena, the consortium that manages the Mineirão. The agreement signed at the time provides that the State is entitled to 66 dates available at the Gigante da Pampulha.

At this moment, there is no negotiation between the cruise and Minas Arena for a resumption for an eventual agreement. The Minas Gerais team has sought the State Government to mediate the situation.

In a public hearing at the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais, last Tuesday, the cruise made harsh criticisms of the management of the Mineirão. Since last year, the club from Minas Gerais has sought to expand its participation in the organization and revenue of events at the stadium.

– O cruise tried numerous times to reach an agreement and be able to play in the stadium. We made a series of proposals for Egesa, HAP and Construcap, which form the consortium. All of them, following the minimum standards practiced in ceded stadiums around the world.
