Cruz Azul won the title of champion of champions of Liga MX when defeating by 2 -1 to Leon.

Jonathan Rodríguez scored for Cruz Azul on two occasions. Leon’s goal was from Santiago Ormeño.

The two teams finished with 10 men after the expulsions of Yoshimar Yotún for the celestes and Fidel Daniel Ambriz for the emeralds.

The Champion of Champions trophy has been contested, intermittently, since 1942. Guadalajara has won the title 7 times, América has 6, León 5 and Cruz Azul reached 3.

Blue Cross will play for the Champions Cup title against the Columbus Crew of the MLS on September 29 in Ohio
