Cruz Azul beats Puebla and continues as leader of the Apertura 2024

Cruz Azul extended its winning streak in the Apertura 2024 tournament of the Liga Mx after beating Puebla 2-1, in a duel on matchday 12 played at the Cuauhtémoc stadium, thereby remaining the leader of the general classification.

Thanks to this result, the light blue team, which had four consecutive wins, accumulated 31 points to consolidate its position in first place in the general classification. In turn, the La Franja team stayed in 12th place, with 11 units.

The cement workers had the opportunity to open the scoring in the 27th minute through a maximum penalty. Jorge Sánchez was in charge of taking the shot from the 11th step, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez.

However, they managed to take the lead at 45+3 thanks to a header from Georgios Giakoumakis. Puebla achieved the tie just a few moments later, at 45+6, through Luis Quiñones.
