The Ministry of Health of Brazil carried out a new epidemiological evaluation, in accordance with the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, in which it was decided that cruise ships resume activities as of today.
Gilson Machado NetoMinister of Tourism in Brazil, assured that a determining factor for the decision-making was that the segment is considered “very important” for the employment generation and movement of the economy in Brazil.
However, he stressed that the safety of tourists and crew members will always be guaranteed, according to the agreements between the competent authorities of the industry, states and municipalities involved.
For his part, the president of the Brazilian Cruise Association (CLIA Brazil), Marco Ferraz, celebrated the decision and pointed out: “We are ready to sail, offer unique experiences and positively impact the country’s economy.”
