The police report that during the fire that broke out last Sunday, September 26, at about 2:00 am, in Kaunas district, Paparčiai village, the residential house and all the items in it were completely burnt down.

People fire did not suffer at the time – the owner of the house (born in 1940) was treated in a hospital during the fire.

Police officers launched an investigation which found that the house had been set on fire intentionally – allegations of property destruction had been made against a neighbor of the owner of the set house – a local resident (born 1962) convicted of various crimes, including arson.

The suspect also revealed the motives of the crime to the officials – according to him, the owner of the burned house had infected the latter. coronavirus infection, so this in revenge decided to set fire to the house of the old man who may have infected him.

The property damage caused by the burned house is adjusted. The suspect was given the most severe detention order.

Kaunas county Officials of the Kaunas District Police Commissariat of the LSC conduct a pre-trial investigation into the destruction of property in accordance with Article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. 2 d.
