How did you mainly lag behind the people of Prague?
Absolutely unambiguous in productivity. We created maybe six clear chances, which is not usual against the Spartans. Unfortunately, we haven’t converted any. Visitors were much more efficient in this respect. It was terribly cruel for us to lose 0: 2 after a balanced first half. But even before the game I was saying that to be successful with Sparta, all our players had to perform to the limit of their abilities. Which did not happen.
You mean, for example, Granečný, guilty of a penalty kick, and you substituted him at half-time?
Again I don’t blame him so much for the penalty, even though he didn’t behave as he should have done in that situation. Something else pissed me off. After the Spartans’ car is quickly thrown behind him, he wonders about something and doesn’t immediately get on the defensive. And the second key goal of the Prague after the penalty falls on him. He was in charge of the Kucht finish. Substitute fighters revived our game in the second half.
So can you find positives in a failed encounter?
We got to see some frenetic football, which we also deserved. We have shown some good things. And I am convinced that at 0: 1 we should have taken a penalty after the tackle on Alli. It was a similar situation to the other side.
You’re also probably sad that Hladík’s tutovka was thrown away when it was still goalless, right?
That’s how it is. Together with the second goal in the net at the end of the period, this was another key moment of the game. Honza Hladík advanced alone on the goalkeeper and, even though he was on the weaker leg, he at least wanted to hit the goal so that our players could finish.
After more than a year, formerly talented Pachlopník returned to the league in the second half after a long-term injury. What did you say about his performance?
He is doing well in training, so I decided to give him a chance in the match. He played some good balls and won some balls over the opponent. It’s just a pity we didn’t get anything out of it.
Zbrojovka’s Ladislav Krejčí scored two goals for you …
He gave us a goal from a penalty and the second with a header from a set piece. We know very well how dangerous it can be with them. Unfortunately we have not seen it. On the other hand, we managed to take the ball away from him twice and thanks to this we entered on occasions from which we were able to score.
