Crozetto emphasized that the security of Italy and France starts from “the eastern front and what is happening in Ukraine”.
Both ministers agreed that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the biggest threat to peace and stability in Europe since World War II.
“This is a clear violation of the integrity and inviolability of territorial borders, international law and the principles of the UN Charter,” said the Italian defense minister.
Italy has already delivered six packages of military aid to Ukraine, including a certain amount of artillery, which became a significant reinforcement for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In December, the Italian parliament voted to continue military supplies to Ukraine. Ukraine will help Kyiv at least until the end of this year.
Currently, preparations are being completed for the shipment of the SAMP/T air defense system, jointly developed by France and Italy.
