“Why give in to Mette-Marit of all people?” The question comes from Swedish Women’s Magazine, and for many it can be difficult to understand why.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit (47) had hardly imagined that she would be drawn into this year’s most talked about interview – the interview Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) gave to Oprah recently.
But now it has happened, and the American talk show star Stephen Colbert (56) takes care of that.
On Twitter, he mentions both Mette-Marit, Crown Prince Haakon (47) and Prince Sverre Magnus (15), and it is not easy to get wise to whether he basically thinks that the Meghan and Harry interviews are just so-called “cucumber news” .

“Now maybe CBS will finally allow me to interview Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and his wife, Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby”, he writes initially on Twitter, and continues:
“They will reveal everything about who eats the most meatballs (everyone knows that it is Prince Sverre Magnus). Think what viewerships I will get ».
Maybe now CBS will finally let me sit down with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and his wife, Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby. They’ll spill the mead on who eats the most Kjøttkaker (everyone knows it’s Prince Sverre Magnus). Think of the ratings!
According to the Swedish newspaper, Colbert believes that an interview with Mette-Marit and Haakon would be far more boring than with the duke couple of Sussex. As a Norwegian, however, it is appropriate to point out that our own Crown Prince and Crown Princess would certainly have been surprised with both if they posed for something similar.
The Royal House has no comment on the case, communications manager Guri Varpe informs Se og Hør.
The Crown Princess’ lung disease is one thing, but also the road to the royal wedding in 2001 was anything but easy. The Crown Prince’s relationship with Mette-Marit from Kristiansand was widely reported in the newspaper Fædrelandsvennen at the end of 1999.
The Crown Prince and Mette-Marit fought against prejudice – and won. The couple invited to a press conference at the Palace just days before the royal wedding, where the upcoming Crown Princess openly told about extravagant partying:
–
– My youth uprising has seemed much stronger than many others, I think. For me at that time, it was important to live across what was accepted. It has also led to me living quite extravagantly. I was in an environment where it was tested and we went beyond borders.
–
– It has been a very expensive experience for me, which has taken a long time to process. And so that there will be no doubt about where I stand today, I would also like to say that I use this opportunity to distance myself from drugs, Mette-Marit said during the press conference, according to Dagbladet.
