Crown or cold or flu? .. The first symptom that determines the type of injury

The arrival of the fall and winter seasons increases the risk of seasonal flu, which has symptoms similar to the Corona virus, which was previously alerted by Dr. Awad Taj El-Din, the president’s advisor for health affairs.

The danger lies in the occurrence of colds and acute respiratory viral infections, simultaneously accompanied by corona infection, which leads to the failure of the work of certain organs in the injured body, and simultaneous infection with these two diseases can disrupt the work of some organs,

But when you only have a cold or an allergy, or just the Corona virus, how can you tell them apart? This is what researchers from the University of South Carolina responded, as they identified a distinct arrangement of symptoms in “Covid-19” patients: a fever followed by a cough.

On the other hand, for seasonal flu, people generally cough before a fever. A common cold is very likely to start with a sore throat as the first symptom of illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

As for allergies, they appear suddenly and include: itchy eyes, sneezing and a runny nose.

In short, the first symptoms of each disease can be summarized as follows:

Corona: fever.

Flu: cough.

Cold (common cold): sore throat.

Allergies: itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, all at once.

The study identifies these symptoms as the first signs that appear in each case.

However, care should be taken, as not all people with COVID-19 will develop a fever.

Additionally, some flu patients may not have a cough, which is why the time it takes for symptoms to appear may be another clue.

The CDC has identified the main differences in the symptoms of “Covid-19” and the flu.

And “Covid-19” symptoms may take longer to appear than flu symptoms, up to 5 days after infection.

However, the symptoms of “Covid-19” can appear as early as two days or up to 14 days after infection.

Flu symptoms can take up to 4 days after infection, and a person is usually contagious the day before symptoms appear. People with the flu can remain infectious for up to 7 days after infection.
