René Lachance, the father of Danick Lachance fatally struck by the side of Route 112 by Miguel Bolduc in January 2017 is still in shock at the driver’s acquittal.
By email, Mr. Lachance wrote to Radio-Beauce that the Crown prosecutor will appeal the reasonable doubt decision invoked by the judge to justify the acquittal.
According to Mr. Lachance, Miguel Bolduc had admitted to using his cell phone and the Snapchat application adding that the experts had shown that the loss of control had been caused by the use of Bolduc’s cell phone. It is on this basis that the case will be appealed, added Mr. Lachance. According to him, the judge made a poor analysis of the file and the steps to appeal are currently underway.
