FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — One of the packaged drink brands, Danone Aqua, is currently one of the targets of a boycott carried out by the Indonesian people.
The reason is because their parent company is accused of supporting Israel. The hashtag #RejectDanoneAqua became a trending topic on social media X or Twitter.
This call is a form of response from netizens because bottled drinking water is considered to be one of the contributors to funds for the Israeli Zionists who are carrying out genocide against Palestine.
After that, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued a fatwa stating that using products that support Israel is haram.
As a result, Aqua Danone became a target and received a lot of insults because it didn’t expect this.
Ultimately, several social media accounts, especially Aqua Danone’s official Instagram, chose to close their comments columns.
The first is the Instagram account @danoneindonesia, whose last upload was related to its support for Indonesian youth, which on that day also coincided with the Youth Pledge Day, October 28.
And secondly, there is the Instagram account @sehataqua which also closed its comments column.
In the account’s last upload, it uploaded promotions related to the concert that will take place at GBK today.
Where, at the concert location, Aqua will also enliven it by providing a special photobooth in the concert area.
Meanwhile, Danone Indonesia Corporate Communication Director Arif Mujahidin said Danone is a public company operating in 120 countries.
