Hyderabad: Eight people including a woman died in a stampede during the road show of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh . Many people were injured. All eight people were reported to have died after falling down the drain during the ride.
The rush started when Naidu’s motorcade was passing through the area on Wednesday evening. The wounded were hospitalized. Following the incident, Naidu canceled the road show and announced Rs 10 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased. He called on party workers to ensure better medical care for the injured.
