Meghan, who married Harry in 2018, in an interview with Oprah at A CBS Primetime Special said that while pregnant she was shocked to learn that Archie would not receive the prince or security assistance.
“They said they didn’t want her to be a prince or a princess – not knowing her gender – which would be different from protocol,” said Meghan.

The 39-year-old woman also admitted that she was worried, because according to her, there was a suggestion that the first royal family member from the colored group could not be given a title like other grandchildren.
According to Meghan, mixed race Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the full name of his first child, was the reason he couldn’t be a prince.
“There was concern and discussion about how dark her skin was when she was born,” said Meghan.

In 2012 Queen Elizabeth II issued a decree stating that all of William’s children would receive the titles of princes and princesses, but that rule did not apply to Archie.
William’s eldest son, George, immediately became a prince at birth and was entitled to enter the list of heirs to the throne.
Meghan tells Oprah that the royal family set different rules that prevent Archie from becoming a prince.
“I think even with the convention I’m talking about, when I was pregnant, they said they wanted to change the convention for Archie,” said the woman who was born in California.
