Crowd at the farewell to Roberto Raneri, a worker who died in Casteldaccia

(ANSA) – ALCAMO, MAY 13 – In the large courtyard of the Salesian oratory of the church of the Anime Sante in Alcamo (Trapani), the final farewell was given to Roberto Raneri, the 50-year-old worker who died in the Casteldaccia massacre. The bishop of Trapani Pietro Maria Fragnelli celebrated the function. In this church the Ranieri family has always been very close to the activities of the Salesians. The mayors of Alcamo Domenico Surdi, Partinico Piero Rao and Casteldaccia Giovanni Di Giacinto took part in the funeral. “On behalf of the entire community I want to say to Benedetta and her two boys Chiara and Gioele, but also to all the family members of Roberto and Epifanio (another worker from Alcamo who died in the massacre. Ed.), that the prospect of the house of the Lord will continue to fill your path with light and make your service to life even stronger by walking together with goodness with justice with beauty – said Bishop Fragnelli during the homily – We need models and Don Bosco is a model who it will allow us to continue to live in the trust that our brothers who have entered their father’s house will continue to think of us and help us in our daily journey. I thank everyone and the civil and military authorities because we cannot manage all this pain alone of the kind it brings with it. And we need to stay together so that we can build a better future.” (HANDLE).
